Arrive at any time in Muscat. Get your 4WD at the airport and transfer to hotel (maps and recommendations provided). Settle in your hotel and spend the afternoon/evening discovering the sutrroundings and familiarizing with the city (recommendations provided).

Discover some of the highlights of the Omani capital including, the Sultan Qaboos Grand mosque, the Royal Opera house and the ancient Muttrah port area with its corniche and dazzling souk (recommendations provided). Venture around the city exploring a unique environment where sand colored mountains meet clear blue waters. Bandar Al Khayran view point and the hike to the Hidden beach are a must when exploring Muscat coastline (recommendations provided).

Spend a day on a boat discovering the Dimaniyat Islands nature reserve, a stunning sanctuary for birds and marine life. The cluster of islands is an important nesting site for turtles and migratory birds. A huge diversity of corals, sting rays, moray eels and schools of fish can be encountered while diving or snorkeling. Seasonally, you would be able to swim with whale sharks, the world’s largest fish.

Start your day driving to Wadi Shab and experience a unique oasis adventure. After a 40 min hike and a swim in three clear blue water pools you will reach the famous waterfall in the cave (recommendations provided). The trip continues with a visit to the Bimmah sinkhole a 40 meters wide and 20 meters deep natural pool perfect for a splash or snorkeling. Before driving back to Muscat, check out White beach near Fins village famous for its white sand and relaxed vibes (recommendations provided).

Drop your car at Muscat Airport and fly to Salalah. Upon arrival a driver will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel in the city center. Settle in your hotel and spend the afternoon/evening discovering the surroundings and familiarizing with the city (recommendations provided).
Experience your first encounter with “Khareef’’ or monsoon, you will hardly believe you are still in Oman! The weather during this time of the year is pleasant and the desert transforms into a beautiful lush green land. The highlights of the city include the plantations (coconuts, papayas and bananas), the palace of the Sultan (al Husn Palace) and Al Hafa souq, famous for selling high quality frankincense. In case you feel adventurous at night, check out the camel meat market where you can taste traditional local delicacies (recommendations provided).

Your guide will pick you up in the morning. Start your day driving through the Dhofar mountain range. During the monsoon season you will be able to see lush green hills and hundreds of camel enjoying the wild grazing fields. Your first adventure will be hiking the Taiq cave, a 90 million cubic meter-sinkhole, one of the most impressive geological formations of Dhofar and one of the largest of its kind in the world. After the hike you will go to Samhan Plateau, the highest point of Dhofar mountain range, and home to the secretive and highly endangered Arabian leopard. You will enjoy a picnic and an exceptional panoramic view of the coast above the clouds. Continue the trip driving down to Wadi Hinna to check out the mysterious baobab trees, wander around and embrace the beauty of the Dhofar nature.

Your guide will pick you up in the morning. The adventure starts with an early drive to the Empty Quarter or Rub al-Khali desert. On the way you will visit the archeological site of Ubar, UNESCO world heritage site, claimed to be the legendary lost city of Arabia. After Ubar you will be riding the towering desert dunes, reaching a height up to 300 meters; a thrilling and enchanting experience in one of the most isolated and arid places in the world. Heading back to Salalah you will visit Wadi Dawka, also a UNESCO world heritage site, famous for its abundance of frankincense trees. The last stop will be at Ayn Sahalnoot where you will discover a beautiful spring holding water all year around.

Leave Muscat and head to Nizwa region where you will visit the 17th century Nizwa fort, a gem of the traditional Omani architecture. Around you will get the chance to stop at the souq, renowned for its Friday cattle auction, handicrafts and jewelry. From there, proceed to Al Hoota cave, created 2 million years ago by water erosion, holding massive stalactites and stalagmites and home to a lake with blindfish. The cave is the first and only show cave in the Arabian Peninsula with a total length of 4.5km, of which just 500 meter is accessible to the public. Drive back to Al Hamra district where you will be staying in an Eco luxury hotel and enjoy the sunset over the rocky desert mountains.

Start your day with a thrilling canyoning experience. Challenge yourself, boost your adrenaline and discover the Snake Canyon with its waterfalls emerging from its rocky walls, natural pools, and massive boulders. With the help of an instructor you will cross the canyon by jumping into fresh water pools, abseiling and hiking. After the canyon explore the picturesque village of Balad Sayt with its traditional houses, plantations and thousands of palm trees.

Enjoy a relaxing morning before driving to “Jebel Shams” or Mountain of the Sun, the highest mountain of Oman and the third highest in the Arabian Peninsula. Reach the view point and enjoy the spectacular scene of Al Nakhur Canyon also known as “The Grand Canyon’’ of Arabia. Start heading back to Muscat and spend a relaxed evening in the capital (recommendations provided).
